The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process.

HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application's progress. Through their account portal, candidates will also be able to provide any additional information needed in the hiring process, including setting up interviews as needed. After the final filing date, applicants will receive an email from DoNotReply@cdcr.ns2cloud.com or DoNotReply@CDCR (depending on the email provider), with direction on creating and / or accessing their account.

Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director, the Information Technology Specialist III (ITS III) will serve as Solution Architect and a subject matter expert for the Middle Tier platform and all progressive web application development in addition to an advisor for EIS executive management. The ITS III will lead and navigate change in an innovative environment and collaborate cross-functionally to align technology solutions with strategic objectives. This role demands strategic technical leadership, influence, and expertise to deliver best practice solutions to EIS. The ITS III shall maintain a thorough understanding of the organization, including the Information Technology (IT) organization and key program areas, and perform the leadership, facilitation, and analysis required to ensure all application solutions and services are being developed in a standard, but expedient manner and in line with EIS' strategic direction. As an expert-level advisor and a key member of the extended IT Leadership team, the incumbent participates in strategy development and executive strategic initiatives. This position represents the highest level of expertise within the Information Security and Software Engineering domain in state service. Effective written, verbal skills and strong customer service are required.

Working Conditions

The main EIS location is in a park-like campus setting across from the Folsom Lake auto dealerships in Rancho Cordova, close to US Highway 50 and the Hazel light rail station. We are minutes from historic Sutter Street, the Folsom Premium Outlets, and many dining establishments.

The position(s) is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed / required.
