About the Facility:
Grand Junction Regional Center (GJRC) is one of three Regional Centers in Colorado that serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have intensive needs.
GJRC, which dates back to 1919, has both Intermediate Care Facilities/Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IDD) homes and Home and Community Based Services Waiver (HCBS Waiver) homes throughout the community. The center serves a diverse population, from people who have high abilities but are a high risk to themselves or others to people who have significant medical challenges.
Programs are individualized to meet varying needs. Services provided range from residential services and health services to mental health intervention. GJRC provides day program, vocational and specialized habilitation, speech, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation and nutritional services.

Description of Job
This position is essential in the coordination of Community Integration and Habilitation Services (CIHS), Employment First, and Pre-Vocation for disabled people living at Grand Junction Regional Center (GJRC).
Additionally, as a Employment First and Pre-Vocation Coordinator you can expect to:
- Work with the Community Integration team to ensure CIHS Employment First and Pre-Vocational (Pre-voc) services and support are planned and scheduled to meet people's needs around employment.
- Oversee employment programming and ensure it is implemented in all designated CIHS employment and Pre-voc areas.
- Provide leadership, supervision, modeling, and coaching to Employment Navigator (Empl Nav), Employment Specialist (Empl Spc), CIHS Technician and other direct support professionals.
- This position spends a portion of the work day outside the office working directly with people supported, employers, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Empl Nav, Empl Spc,
- Ensures employment and pre-voc locations are meeting the needs of people supported and run efficiently.
- This position works closely with the Director to ensure implementation of services is occurring and meeting state and federal regulations. This position will be an integral part of the Employment First Initiative.
- Oversee the writing, implementation, monitoring of individual support plans (ISP) for learning and development of skills related to activities of daily living, employment and pre-voc skills, collaboration with teams
- Engage with all internal departments, community partners/members, and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
AND
Three (3) years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
Substitutions:
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Qualifications:
SBON Psych Tech license (LPT) or Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) required for this position; valid, current and unrestricted.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience training, mentoring, and/or supervising healthcare staff
- Experience conducting and writing assessments
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or dully diagnosed
- Experience working with individuals with compromised medical history
- Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors
- Experience with Word, Excel, Google Calendar, Google Sheets
Conditions of Employment:
- Preemployment physical Test: must demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, squat, etc. and perform physical Interventions proficiently throughout employment.

CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS - Current/Valid and unrestricted US Driver’s License
- Shift Work - GJRC is a 24/7 facility; therefore, person in this position must be available to work any shift, any day, and/or any area, to meet agency needs.
- Travel - Position must travel to remote work sites and must utilize a State vehicle, if available. If not, must utilize personal vehicle and submit for mileage reimbursement.
- Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position, (3) provide the employee number from the applicant’s prior State employment. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination and failure to provide this information will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
