Description of Job
We’re hiring an organized communicator and collaborator to be our Training Specialist on our DRIVES Training team with the DMV! Use your excellent time management skills to deliver quality training to over 2000 stakeholders from the State, County and other areas while being able to handle any emergency deliverables. Your communication skills will ensure staff are trained and certified for their positions. When receiving calls and service desk tickets from your stakeholders, your expertise and customer service skills will ensure they are given the correct information and are able to do their jobs. Primary Duties:
- Conducts, assesses and delivers comprehensive and technical training classes and tests for DRIVES users located in State and County Driver License Offices, Driver Control Units, State Vehicle Services and County Motor Vehicle Offices statewide. Examples of training include, but are not limited to: administering training in a virtual environment with occasional in person classes, auditing employees going through training to ensure competencies are learned, administering new hire training as well as ongoing refresher training, and administering written and practical assessments to evaluate DRIVES knowledge. Responsible for becoming certified in BOST (Basic Operator Skills Testing) so Trainer can certify County Driver License employees to conduct skills tests.
- Designs and develops training courses (virtual and in person) new hire onboarding as well as ongoing refresher training for DRIVES end users, collects and reports data on training needs, determines the method of delivery and course objectives, makes revisions to existing training material based on policies and State statute changes, and executes training logistics (equipment, materials, registration, evaluations).
- Provides technical assistance and support for inquiries and issues related to DRIVES via phone (call center environment) and email.

- State experience working on a technical customer service team
- Experience working in a county or State office using DRIVES
- Experience working on a help desk or call center environment
- Additional years experience working in public service at the federal, state, county, or local level
- Instructional Design Experience
- Experience using audio/visual equipment and materials
- Intermediate to advanced PowerPoint and Articulate Storyline skills
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication
- Experience creating Web-based Training modules using Articulate Storyline
- Experience creating and writing storyboards, scripts or outlining training
- Experience facilitating training classes virtually
Conditions of Employment with the CDOR:
As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.
