As part of the School of Engineering, the civil engineering (CE) and civil engineering technology (CET) programs are two distinct undergraduate degree programs through which the School of Engineering develops competent graduates prepared to perform standard analysis and design of elements or subsystems of structures, foundations, transportation systems, and hydraulic/hydrologic systems; are capable of conducting standard laboratory and field tests for construction materials and soils; can perform engineering or construction surveying; and have the skills to function as civil engineering construction project managers.
The School of Engineering consists of seven degree programs that collectively offer five baccalaureate degree programs, two master’s programs, and three undergraduate minors. The baccalaureate degree majors include Civil Engineering (BSCE), Industrial and Systems Engineering (BSIE), Mechatronics Engineering (BSME), Civil Engineering Technology (BSCET), Construction Management (BS). The lone engineering technology program and the three undergraduate engineering programs are all ABET accredited. Our master’s programs lead to graduate degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering (MSISE) and Mechatronics Engineering (MSME). The School of Engineering in collaboration with the Hasan School of Business provides an opportunity for a 3 2 academic degree program that enables students to simultaneously earn a construction management (CM) undergraduate degree and an MBA degree within five years. Similarly, students in the School of Engineering can opt for 3 2 academic degree programs leading to degrees in BSIE or BSME and MSME or MSISE. The School of Engineering faculty is a community of highly qualified professionals, most with many years of both teaching and industry experience and many are certified in engineering specialties or licensed to practice.
The School of Engineering performs research in engineering and provides service to the college, university, the southern Colorado region, and the world. Engineering lab spaces include a foundry, metals lab, machine shop, a concrete and soil mechanics lab, measurements lab, mechatronics lab with computer workstations using NI ELVIS equipment and LabVIEW, nanotechnology lab, virtual reality lab, 3D printing lab, a robotics lab, and a hydraulics lab. The faculty members are involved in research on manufacturing issues in nanotechnology, 3D printing technologies, logistics, mathematical models for decision making, and transportation systems. The School of Engineering is home to the Southern Colorado Institute of Transportation Technology.

Primary Duties
Teaches baccalaureate and master’s level courses in the engineering programs in accordance with programs’ needs. These duties include preparing and presenting course materials; administering appropriate tests; evaluating student outcomes; selecting and ordering texts; preparing, administering, and grading assignments; and assigning final grades. Duties also include proposing curriculum changes and program modifications to the School Director.
Engages in scholarly activity including grant writing, preparation, and submission; scholarly work appropriate to the discipline while including undergraduate and graduate students in research when possible and appropriate; and dissemination at appropriate national, region, and local venues.
Engages in service to the school, college, university, the southern Colorado region and the engineering profession (including national organizations).
Salary Range
$75,000 to $82,000

Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a closely related field by the date of employment. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or physical science.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to motivate, educate and mentor students from a wide range of cultural and educational backgrounds similar to that of Colorado State University Pueblo.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s in engineering.
- P.E./P. Eng. license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Experience developing grant proposals.
- Relevant industrial experience.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: undergraduate engineering, industrial engineering fundamentals, simulation, quality control, operations research, artificial intelligence, engineering economy, and project management.
- Collegiate Teaching experience.
