Job Summary: 
The scheduled shift for this position is Sunday - Tuesday 6:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.  
May be required to work a flexible shift.

This position cleans and sanitizes facilities for the students, staff, faculty and customers of the Department of Special Events.  Responsible for comprehensive custodial activities including but not limited to sweeping, mopping and/or vacuuming floors, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and stocking the restrooms with needed supplies. Timely removal of waste and recyclable materials. Snow removal and ice abatement as needed. Restorative and general maintenance of hard floor surfaces and carpets. Emergency response to other issues that arise.

Essential Job Functions: 
  • Event Setup/Teardown 
    • Responsible for the setup and tear down for event spaces, rooms and overall facility preparation for conferences, athletic and special events. Setup and tear down includes furniture, audiovisual equipment, lighting, and other event items as needed.
  • Venue Cleaning 
    • Responsible for sanitizing and cleaning event spaces, furniture, and equipment. This includes waste removal, window cleaning, floor cleaning, restroom service, and other event support items. Responsible for cleaning and removing debris, liter & graffiti on buildings.
  • Venue Maintenance 
    • Clean and perform minor maintenance on event equipment to keep it in proper working order.
  • Venue and Building Security 
    • Maintain an awareness of the physical security of campus buildings and facilities, including locking and closing door.
  • Other Event Needs as Assigned 
    • Other event support needs as assigned by department.

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Valid and unencumbered Colorado drivers license. 
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for audiovisual equipment and computers.
Conditions of Employment:
  • The person selected for this position must maintain their ability to stand for long periods of time as well as kneel, stoop, crouch, reach and grab in the performance of job-related duties.
  • The person selected for this position must maintain their ability to perform the physical demands of this position which include physical manipulating and moving furniture and supplies in excess of 50 on a frequent basis.

*Years of experience will be expressed in terms of full-time equivalent service with full-time workload equal to one (1) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) year. No more than 1.00 FTE year may be credited in any twelve (12) month period. Positions working 40 hours or less per week will be pro-rated (30 hrs/wk=0.75 FTE=9 mos credit; 20 hrs/wk=0.5 FTE=6 mos credit; 10 hrs/wk=0.25 FTE=3 mos credit.)*
