EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position verifies, classify, audit and record entries into the Statewide accounting system, CORE (Colorado Operations Resource Engine), in accordance with State of Colorado Fiscal Rules, State of Colorado Procurement Rules, State of Colorado Revised Statutes, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Job Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintain the integrity of financial data in the State of Colorado Operations Resource Engine (CORE);Identify vendor terms and take applicable cash discounts;Verify the legitimacy of Accounts Payable transactions, maintaining proper accounting procedures;Check for proper documentation and coding, ascertain approval authority, check vendor invoice accuracy, return to vendor authority, and authorization of a payment request;Match Accounts Payable supporting documentation, transaction authorization(Purchase Order, Contract, or Requisition), Receiving Report, and Vendor Invoice; which compiles an audit-able package ready for review and approval as a Payment Request;Reconcile Accounts Payable transactions with vendor statements, inquiries, or past-due notices;Problem resolution is accomplished by analysis of data and circumstances to determine the best solution that ensures the integrity of fiscal responsibility;Classify Accounts Payable transactions as to type and group, Agency defined, definitive to one of the four specific Departments combined within the infrastructure of the Department of Corrections by physically defining document type, receiving report, vendor invoice, purchase order, contract, modification, payment request;Other duties as assigned.
