EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Under the guidance of the Transitional Services Unit CPS V, this position oversees the delivery of re-entry services located within the Division of Adult Parole throughout the state in parole offices and correctional facilities. This position supervises the statutorily mandated benefits acquisition assistance for releasing individuals who may be eligible for benefits. This position will work collaboratively with clinical services, prison Case Managers, Release Case Managers, Treatment Coordination Case Managers, other members of the Benefit Acquisition team, Community Parole Officers, and Parole Mental Health Clinicians, to identify and provide stabilization resources for high-risk, high-needs qualified transitioning offenders. Supervision of the Transitional Services unit involves the implementation of the continuity of care continuum to reduce the likelihood of offenders returning to prison, assist the offender in rehabilitation, and provide the offender with stabilization that allows him or her to function successfully in society Position serves as work lead over the Community Re-entry Program. The primary duties and responsibilities: Coaches, mentors, trains, and oversees Community Program Specialists III located in parole offices statewide;Responsible for the work product of the assigned staff including but not limited to, assigning tasks, monitoring progress and workflow, timesheet administration and oversight, checking the product quality, administration of Credit Card (CCARD) quality assurance and oversight, and establishing work standards;Assists with preparing purchase orders, assists with writing documented quotes and requests for proposals,monitoring and verifying services rendered for payment of bills for Community Program Specialist III’s and outside vocational programs(community colleges and/or vocational training programs by outside vendors), and supply purchases associated with both;Train and educate unit staff and other division staff, as needed, regarding best practices in offender re-entry;Ensuring that the Transitional Services Unit software and one-on-one re-entry services are implemented in accordance with the program design;Networks, communicates, and collaborates with the other Community Program Specialist IV work leads, Community Program Specialist V’s,Community Parole Officers, workforce centers, federal, state, and local agencies, community groups, business groups, and other organizationsand individuals to increase the employment and training opportunities available to parolees supervised by the Division;participate in Strategic Planning and its subcommittees;Some travel may be required;Other duties as assigned or required.
