About the Work Unit
The Executive Security Branch (ESB) is a special unit of the Colorado State Patrol. The unit consists of troopers, civillian security guards and command center workforce. The ESB provides 24-hour security at the State Capital complex and at the Governor's Residence with transportation and security for Governor and the first Family. In addition, the unit provides protection and security services to the secretary of state, attorney general and state treasurer.

Security Officers with the Colorado State Patrol are responsible for patrolling various state buildings to ensure safety and security of personnel and visitors.
