Consolidated Veteran Service Representatives (CVSR) are specialists in veteran employment issues, conduct analysis, and provide input to the administration before setting program direction and policy. They also coordinate with the Business Services Division of their Workforce centers and other service providers to promote the benefits of hiring veterans and conduct outreach programs for employers. CVSRs provide intensive services (individual Career services) to eligible veterans and other eligible persons, assisting them in finding suitable employment
CVSR staff are a highly experienced and knowledgeable group of employment experts who specialize in researching and analyzing various employment trends and opportunities. They use this knowledge to set program direction and policy, which helps to ensure that all veterans and other eligible persons have access to the best possible employment services. CVSR staff works closely with employers to promote their outreach efforts and to provide them with valuable information about the benefits of hiring veterans. They offer intensive services to veterans and other eligible persons, such as job coaching, job training, and job placement assistance, which helps them to transition into the civilian workforce successfully
CVSRs are also responsible for conducting and facilitating employment, training, and placement services furnished to veterans in the State under the applicable State employment delivery systems.
VETS defines “facilitate” as capacity building within the State’s employment service delivery system to ensure easier access to the appropriate employment and training services for Veteran job seekers. This means that the CVSR does not perform the provision of service. The CVSR will play an important role in developing effective strategies, guidelines, and rules that impact broad, overall policy, program, and level of service with the development of the service delivery strategies for Veterans in their assigned Workforce Center/American Job Center as well as assisting in the familiarization of all staff with current Veteran employment initiatives and programs.
