Description of Job
The Instructional Designer will provide leadership and expertise in the design and implementation of face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses. This position works closely with faculty and instructors across the institution in incorporating evidence-based practices into their course design and delivery. The Instructional Designer supports faculty and instructors in course and curriculum design as well as class organization, assessments, teaching methods, active learning strategies, and learning technologies.
Here are some of the responsibilities of this role :
- Consult with faculty and instructors from a variety of disciplines on teaching and learning topics to promote and support effective teaching practices.
- Provide expertise on and review of course design, teaching strategies, active learning, assessment, accessibility, Universal Design for Learning, inclusion, educational technology, and other evidence-based teaching topics.
- Design and deliver workshops and other professional development opportunities for educators on a range of evidence-based teaching practices.
- Support educators in improving curriculum, course design, teaching strategies, assessment design, and integration of technology to support student learning through individual and group learning opportunities.
