workshops through the Division of Extended Studies. Some programs are offered on campus and others at off-campus sites including in Colorado Springs, at Fort Carson, in Douglas County, in Huerfano County, and at public high schools throughout the state of Colorado, and more.
The Division of Extended Studies (ES) provides courses to full-time, part-time, and non- traditional students. Many educational methods - classroom instruction, correspondence courses, online courses, conferences, workshops, and seminars - are utilized to expand educational access and meet the needs of students at convenient times and settings. Students may earn academic credit toward a degree, study for career advancement, or pursue cultural and avocational interests.

The Online Programs Advisor reports to the Associate Dean of Adult Learning and is responsible for providing student advising for online programs as well as enrollment support for students seeking to pursue an online program at CSU Pueblo. The advisor has a caseload of students, supporting students from enrollment to graduation in taking courses, connecting students to resources available for remote learners, and support career connections for students upon graduation to optimize their CSU Pueblo experience.
This position is partially funded by the La Distancia grant which is set to expire September 30th, 2027.

Primary Duties:
Student Services and Advising
- Provide comprehensive advising and manages a caseload of new, continuing, and transfer students attending CSU Pueblo online programs. Responsible for successful onboarding of that student caseload, meets individually with students to develop structured student success plans to maximize the retention and persistence of students in their programs. Offer guidance on specific academic skills like time management, study strategies, and critical thinking.
- Utilize enrollment management systems to track academic progress, communicate to provide proactive outreach interventions or make referrals based upon issues and concerns reported by students, instructors or staff with regular usage of Slate, Banner, DARS, Starfish and other systems.
- Provide one-on-one support to help students navigate the registration process including selecting and enrolling in courses and ensuring course alignment with their degree. Review and interpret academic skills and assessment for appropriate course placement. (SAT, ACT, Accuplacer, etc.)
- Facilitate student connections with other departments on campus including Admissions, Career Center, Peer Mentors, Student Financial Services, Counseling Center, Tutoring centers, and all other student-serving departments.
- Maintain student files, records, and data in accordance with federal, state, system, and college operating policies and protocols, and stays current on applicable laws, policies, and procedures (e.g. FERPA, Title V, and the Code of Federal Regulations).
- Monitor inquiries and applicant data to ensure progress is on pace with enrollment targets, maximizes yield, and proactively identify issues impacting student progress within the enrollment process, as well as provide the Associate Dean and Enrollment Counselor information on recruitment efforts for successful completion of targeted recruitment goals.
- Provide information on admission requirements, academic programs, special services, scholarships and financial aid, etc. Provide a personal connection to the University for prospective students by reaching out to students on an individual level (as appropriate) and provide appropriate follow-up to student inquiries to support the enrollment funnel and enrollment targets by term.
- Recommend outreach activities, educational fairs, and community outreach activities designed to generate enrollment growth for assigned programs. Assist in the preparation of general program information, policy manuals, course schedules, degree plans, and promotional publications. Suggest possible design layout and placement of advertising in coordination with the Marketing Specialist and Associate Dean.

- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Experience with, or commitment to, working in a team environment with a diverse population of students.
- Experience in a position or activity that required excellent communication skills, organizational skills, multitasking skills, ability to relate and mentor students, and attention to detail.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated work experience in student advising and knowledge of Financial Aid
- Experience with Banner or similar SIS system.
- Experience with FERPA.
