The Salary Range for this position is:
$25.17 - $33.37 Hourly
$2,013.23 - $2,669.54 Biweekly

This position directly supports the two Chief Criminal Investigators, as well as other Criminal Investigators in the unit. This position ensures that procedures and enforcement operations are conducted in an efficient and effective manner, which includes, but is not limited to processing restitution from the courts and preparing background check information on new hires/internal employees, for the Chiefs’ review. This position is responsible for the general support of the Investigations and Criminal Enforcement (ICE) unit, specifically general support to the Criminal Investigators and direct support to the Chief Criminal Investigators.
The unit’s main function is to combat UI fraud with prevention, detection, investigation, prosecution and recovery of stolen monies from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. When applicable, this position includes viewing and handling Federal Tax Information (FTI) and Criminal Justice Information (CJI). As a result, a nationwide criminal background check and fingerprinting must be completed and remain on file, in order to meet the Internal Revenue Service requirements and NCIC/CCIC requirements. This position is responsible for processing all restitution checks, restitution reports and statistics specifically relating to restitution. Additional duties of this position are: managing the Labor Fraud Inbox, processing the intake of new cases, delivering mail to staff (including scanning and delivering originals), and general correspondence and program support of the entire unit, as well as other duties as assigned. This position requires the person to work independently, under the general guidance of the chiefs of the unit.
This position requires the person to have high problem-solving skills, including but not limited to analyzing and deciphering criminal and DMV information, background check information, determining “proof of residency” required for employees and must be able to articulate information to others. Furthermore, this position is responsible for working directly with the HR, as ICE is responsible for reviewing and clearing background checks for all CDLE employees. This position is responsible for identifying processes that may need improvement, as well as making recommendations on how this might be accomplished. This position requires a higher level of decision making and requires the person to be able to implement process improvements (restitution recovery efforts) if applicable, improving techniques and streamlining processes related to ICE’s case management system, as well as ensuring the data integrity of the Dollar Report and Recoup reports. Additionally, this position is required to produce updated or new processes, related to various duties. Lastly, this position may need to conduct actions through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), the Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC), as well as other complex databases, if needed.

Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position

Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years

- Experience providing executive level administrative support (i.e. coordinating and scheduling meetings, facilitation and arrangement of in-person and virtual meetings, etc.).
