Primary responsibility is to support the State Invasive Species Program through public outreach to non-motorized water recreation groups on the Colorado River at designated boat launches. Work will include to educating outfitters, anglers, hunters, and non-motorized watercraft users about aquatic invasive species and how to properly clean, drain, and dry their equipment. to the James M. Robb Corn Lake State Park for assignment. Boat inspection training will be provided. When outreach is not needed, the position will support the Program Manager and Invasive Species Specialists by performing a variety of tasks including: watercraft inspection and decontamination, quality control assessment, inventory management, reviewing and editing technical reports, distribution of supplies to field locations, and data entry.
Early morning, evening & weekend work required.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Good driving record and ability to travel extensively with overnight stays is mandatory.
2. Ability to drive long hours and remain alert.
3. Ability to trailer decontamination units on highways and steep mountain roads.
4. Must be willing to be flexible with the weekday and weekend work schedule, as field work may be dictated by weather.
5. Experience with Microsoft Word applications required – Word, Excel, Access
6. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
7. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
