TEMPORARY/INTERNSHIP Property Technician – Walden, CO

Assist the Property Technician with the daily maintenance and improvement of State Wildlife Areas in Jackson County. Primary duties will include but are not limited to: noxious weed control; facility and equipment maintenance; fence repair and construction; mandatory big game animal checks; operating and maintaining vehicles, trailers, weed spraying equipment, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s), power tools, and chainsaws; handling animal carcasses; data recording and record keeping; as well as interacting with and answering questions from hunters and anglers.   This position will also assist District Wildlife Managers, Biologists, and other Property Technicians with wildlife management related tasks.BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a current & valid driver’s license for operating a state vehicle
Work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.
Must have experience working with a variety of hand and power tools
Must have vehicle/equipment/maintenance experience
Must have ability to hike long distances with a pack
Must have ability to accomplish physically demanding tasks
Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather
Must possess a good attitude
Must possess enthusiasm for protecting Colorado’s resources
