PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues;
- Collaborating and communicating with vendors and user/client community to resolve network problems;
- Supporting batch job monitoring and scheduling tasks;
- Providing technical support through help desk tools like BMC Helix or Footprints within a 24x7 operational environment;
- Reporting and documenting network incidents and resolutions;
- Assisting with change control processes in an enterprise-scale IT environment;
- Helping maintain data center power and cabling infrastructure;
- Gaining hands-on experience with network and IT facilities operations and systems;
- Performing related duties as required.

- Experience or training in Network Operations or as a Liaison communicating with vendors to resolve issues
- Experience or training in network monitoring with enterprise-scale tools and batch monitoring using scheduling platform tools
- Experience or training with Help Desk ticketing or Change Management
- Experience or training with circuit ordering or network equipment configuration
- Experience or training with racking equipment in a computer equipment rack
