Job Description
As a Seasonal Recreation employee, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and operation of state parks. This may include working at a ticket booth, providing general camp office support services, or supervising and working with an assigned crew of seasonal maintainers. You may also be required to perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, drive vehicles rated at 3/4 Ton Gross Vehicle Weight or less, and operate machinery and power equipment such as lawn mowers, chain saws, brush cutters, tractors, medium duty vehicles, and power tools.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to follow instructions and work independently. You should also be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, as some tasks may require manual labor. Additionally, you may be required to possess specific certifications or licenses, such as a valid Motor Vehicle Operator license or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with experience in retail and/or customer service, custodial work, landscaping, or a related skilled trade. Experience in campground management, recreational facility maintenance, or lifeguarding is also highly valued.
