Introduction
The centerpiece of Killens Pond State Park, conveniently located in central Delaware, is the 66-acre millpond, which was established in the late 1700s. Before the pond was created, the Murderkill River and surrounding hardwood forest were sites of several Native American homes and hunting camps. Killens Pond became a state park in 1965. Summary Statement
A variety of seasonal park positions may be available at Killens Pond State Park: 1.\tPark Maintenance ($15.00) - responsible for the assisting maintenance staff with all aspects of maintaining the park grounds and its facilities. 2.\tBoat Rental Attendant ($15.00) - responsible for all aspects of customer service, using software to rent boats, assist visitors with kayaks, canoes, and peddle boats in and out of the water. Responsible for opening and closing procedures. Must complete and pass a Basic Water Safety Course. 3. Park Administrative Support ($15.00) - position will sell park permits, provide customer service by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, needs and complaints, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled to meet facility needs.
Essential Functions

May assist with maintenance and rental equipment. •\tPerforms grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, trail maintenance, landscape bed maintenance, trash removal, vegetation removal, leaf removal and snow/ice removal. •\tProvide excellent customer service and park information to visitors. •\tMust be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills. •\tMust be able to work independently. •\tDuties will vary for each position. •\tOther duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Park Maintenance 1. Must be at least 18 years of age. 2. Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools. 3. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving. Boat Rental Attendant 1. Knowledge of working with money and making change. 2. Knowledge of math such as addition and subtraction. Park Administrative Support 1. Six months customer service experience. 2. Six months experience in cash handling, writing receipts. 3. Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
