Introduction






Delaware's Attorney General, the State's chief law enforcement officer, has a broad responsibility to combat crime, uphold civil rights, safeguard families, provide legal services to entirety of state government, and fight fraud.


In the Civil Division, approximately 80 attorneys provide legal support to the executive branch agencies in the form of general counsel advice, administrative hearing prosecutions, board representation, and all stages of civil litigation.

Summary Statement

The Delaware Department of Justice seeks a Deputy Attorney General for the Civil Division in the Financial Integrity Protection Unit in New Castle County. This Deputy Attorney General will advise the Delaware Public Employees’ Retirement System, the Board of Pension Trustees, and the Office of Pensions on issues including investments, plan interpretation and administration, governance, regulatory matters, and securities litigation. Travel within the State is required.

Pay Grade A16 DAG III Salary Range $96,997/min $99,129/max
Pay Grade A18 DAG IV Salary Range $106,626/min $108,737/max
Pay Grade A20 DAG V Salary Range $118,238/min $122,920/max

Job Requirements

The selected candidate must have excellent writing skills, demonstrate sound judgment, and have a background or interest in finance and/or investment. Familiarity with ERISA and fiduciary obligations is helpful but not required. Membership in the Delaware Bar is required.
