Essential Functions
- Schedules on-going preventative or routine maintenance duties.
- Assigns, supervises and participates in work involving all phases of painting, carpentry, plumbing, installation, repair and maintenance of systems and equipment, and other related duties.
- Inspects job site, determines courses of action, directs staff and reviews assignments.
- Schedules assignments, estimates cost, time and materials.
- Maintains records and prepares reports.
- May be required to diagram structural and/or mechanical modifications and heating work.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Foreman
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Three years experience in operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
- Three years experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
- Six months experience in estimating cost, time and materials for projects.
- Six months experience in interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
- Knowledge of interpreting safety and building codes, laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving)

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
