Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients in the emergency room, providing routine or critical care as needed
- Admit patients to the medical ward after comprehensive evaluations
- Serve as consultant in problematic cases in other units
- Lead the Code Blue Team in treating critically ill patients hospital-wide
- Teach nursing and ancillary staff on medical equipment use, treatment procedures, and general healthcare
Requirements
- Licensure as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, and two years of post-licensure professional experience in medicine
- Certification by a recognized board in a medical specialty area can substitute for required experience
