The Mission of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is to “License Efficiently and Regulate Fairly”. The Division of Technology supports the mission of DBPR through management of the systems that underpin the services the Department offers to the public. Our staff continually work to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of DBPR, through consultation with the business units within the Department to integrate new and innovative technology solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience; and
- Experience with audio/visual equipment; and
- Experience with video conferencing; and
- Experience with organizing boxes in a storage unit setting; and
- Experience with a helpdesk support environment; and
- Experience with Windows 11 operating system; and
- Experience with Office Productivity Software: Microsoft Office , O365, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro; and
- Experience with Microsoft’s Active Directory (AD) and user accounts and computers within AD; and
- Experience with troubleshooting audio, video, and computer related issues; and
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a daily basis; and
- Must be able to kneel, bend, crawl and climb a ladder on a daily basis.

Please note:
Preference will be given to applicants that have previous Helpdesk or Call Center experience, as well as experience with set up and support of video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) for remote participants, experience assembling monitors and display mounts, and ticketing system experience. Successful applicant must pass a Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Incumbents answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via remote software and over the telephone. Incumbents may also provide assistance in the use of technology hardware and software, including printing, installations, office productivity software, electronic mail, networking, video conferencing and operating systems. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, support and upgrade of conference room systems within the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, providing technical assistance to computer system users. .
- Ensure that all audio/visual equipment (e.g., microphones, projectors, video conferencing tools) is set up, tested, and functioning properly. Quickly address any technical issues that arise during meetings, such as connection problems, equipment malfunctions, or sound issues.
- Keep track of equipment inventory (e.g., microphones, projectors, cables), ensuring all items are in good working order and restocked as needed.
- Communicate with meeting organizers to understand their needs and ensure everything is set up as required (e.g., specific technical requirements, seating arrangements).
- Development, deployment and implementation of all peripheral devices all while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Reconfigure workstations for new and existing clients. Work with other Help Desk team members to set up new clients or change existing client's configuration of hardware and software.
- Creates and modifies documentation for the distributed computer operating systems software, applications software, and the connectivity / installation with other computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
- Incumbent in this position may be required to be in on-call and/or call back status during emergency response.
- Analyzes and resolves hardware, software and communications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical trouble shooting processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Windows 11 operating system.
- Knowledge of Office Productivity Software: Microsoft Office O365, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro.
- Knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory (AD) and experience and skills with user accounts and computers within AD.
- Experience with ticketing system software.
- Experience and skills with desktop and/or network security.
