SPECIAL NOTES:
High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
Preferences:
- Experience working with accounting records and data.
- Experience with data cleansing, conversion, and/or migration.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing related to developing scenarios with pass/fail criteria, developing scripts, executing testing, and documenting results.
- Experience with data reconciliation and validation.
- Experience developing financial management policy.
- Experience with State of Florida Payroll processes.
- Experience working with the State of Florida in an accounting or financial reporting capacity.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
The salary for this position is $20.75 per hour.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic accounting and auditing principles, theory, and concepts.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards.
- Knowledge of accounting systems.
- Ability to utilize spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- The ability to analyze, comprehend and problem solve accounting and auditing issues.
- Ability to perform data analysis and make conclusions.
- The ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, and authoritative pronouncements.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Payroll Processing/Involuntary Deductions:
- Independently audit and review payroll reports, payments, and agency requests for beneficiary payments.
- Process all incoming mail and manage outgoing payroll processing mail including beneficiary warrants and involuntary deduction warrants.
- Answer ACD phonelines and formulate solutions or delegate to appropriate team members.
- Review and work payroll related reports for all payrolls including On Demand payrolls, involuntary deduction payrolls, etc.
- Maintain and manage all payroll spreadsheets via excel.
- Assist with validation of data for conversion to new accounting system.
- Assist with creating and executing test scenarios for new accounting system.
- Assist in the reconciliation of payroll related trust funds.
