The Regional Maintenance Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of toll collection systems and related infrastructure. The responsibilities include repairing and maintaining electronic toll collection equipment, performing preventative maintenance to minimize system downtime, overseeing the management and upkeep of various Toll Systems, and Manages, directs, and monitors the performance and daily activities of assigned staff and contractors.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Manages, directs, and monitors the performance and daily activities of assigned staff and contractors within the region using the Enterprise Management Software (EMS) system for the operation and repair of the State’s Toll Collection Electronic equipment. Oversees the performance and record keeping of corrective, preventative maintenance and the ordering of required spare/repair parts. Ensures that technicians document all repairs through the submission of Service Desk Incidents, Maintenance Action forms (MAF), Preventative Maintenance Action forms (PAF), Shop Action forms (SAF) to the EMS and Maintenance On-Line Management System (MOMS). Responsible for the accounting of state issued inventory and equipment.
Coordinates with Revenue Collections Services (RCS), SunWatch Operations Center, Toll Systems Engineering (TSE) and Engineering Plant Services Group, Tolls Data Center, Turnpike Facilities and Communications to maintain system readiness. Performs regional toll system monitoring via Toll Equipment Contractor (TEC) and Department provided tools and applications for early detection of system faults or trouble trends to provide reports to the Central Florida Regional Maintenance Manager.
Performs regular inspections of operational toll equipment within their assigned toll facilities to ensure equipment is functioning at the optimal level, verifies data and images are clear and present at the Toll Image Processor (TIP) and is transferred on schedule.
Oversees various work sites and vehicles within their assigned Florida region and ensures they meet operational and safety requirements.
Confirms management of employee schedules and timesheets via web based application and establishes priorities for technicians. Set work unit priorities and provide oversight of work flow within their assigned region. Provides recommendations for Florida’s Department of Transportation (FDOT) staff evaluations within their assigned region. Submits personnel evaluations for contract employees to their assigned contract managers.
Assures coordination with Central Repair Depot (CRD) and Tolls Systems Engineering (TSE) to diagnose, repair or collaborate alternative solutions for equipment malfunctions that are outside of technician's level of responsibilities. Provides assistance with the region's Systems Technician to resolve bench repair issues and the shipment of defective equipment to the CRD or directly to outside vendor via Return Material Authorization (RMA) when necessary.
Coordinates installation of safety equipment and generates/delivers all necessary paperwork in a timely manner. Assists as Fleet Coordinator for Toll System Maintenance (TSM) for their assigned region.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to manage staff using Department standards and guidelines; Ability to interpret and implement directives from upper level management; Ability to maintain files and logs to meet recordkeeping and follow-up requirements; Knowledge of electronic circuitry; Skills to use diagnostic equipment in the repair of electronic toll equipment; Skills in clear and concise communication, both oral and written; Ability to organize and conduct training programs for staff; Knowledge in management and leadership principles and procedures; Ability to organize and implement preventative maintenance programs; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects / repair actions; Ability to use computers for communication and recordkeeping; Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds; Ability to work at heights of thirty (30) feet; Ability to use web-based timekeeping and employee scheduling applications to manage assigned staff work hours; Ability to maintain vehicle logs, and manage vehicle maintenance schedules on time; Ability to maintain and produce reports for assigned region equipment status, system performance statistics, parts requests, tool requests.
This position requires a valid Class E driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department's Driver’s Record Requirements Policy. An unacceptable driving record is defined as any of the following:
- three (3) or more moving violations in the past three (3) years that accumulate three (3) or more points per violation;
- any two (2) convictions of reckless driving in the past three (3) years;
- a suspension or revocation of the driver license for moving violations in the past three (3) years; and
- a suspension or revocation for refusal to take a sobriety test, or any suspension or revocation for a DUI conviction, in the past four (4) years
