Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced psychiatrist to join our team at Northeast Florida State Hospital. As a senior physician, you will be responsible for delivering top-tier mental health care and expert psychiatric services to both civil and forensic patients.
The ideal candidate will have certification in CPR, First Aid, MANDT, Infection Control, Customer Service, and OSHA requirements. You will also need to have licensure as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, and two years of post-licensure professional experience in the practice of medicine; A current public psychiatry certificate issued by the Florida Board of Medical Examiners pursuant to Section 458.Certification by a recognized board in a medical specialty area can substitute for the required experience.
Experience with forensic psychiatry is highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare court-ordered reports
- Provide expert testimony
- Collaborate with legal teams on patient competency cases
- Lead interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Participate in performance initiatives
- Engage in key hospital functions including MEC and Forensic Board Review meetings
