Description: The Bookstore Manager is responsible for all duties associated with the day-to-day operation of one or
more bookstores.
Major Duties:
- Manages day-to-day operation of the technical college bookstore
- Coordinates with appropriate personnel to obtain textbook orders to ensure receipt prior to start of semester
- Orders textbooks, supplies and other items by following established procedures for procurement
- Checks shipping invoices and merchandise received to verify correct quantity, description and/or price
- Coordinates and monitors daily work schedule for bookstore staff to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak times
- Trains, supervises, schedules all personnel as needed that assist in the bookstore
- Supervises the daily collection and balancing of point of sale receipts from all bookstore sales
- Suggests and coordinates the implementation of sales and other promotional activities to increase daily sales and community awareness
- Maintains knowledge of assigned program area and gives updates to management on services, operations and projects
- Monitors shrinkage and implements appropriate safeguards to reduce as necessary
- Establishes book prices and orders cap & gowns as needed for graduation
- Conducts physical inventory of textbooks.
- Supervises bookstore assistants.
- Operates and maintains Win-Prism system.
- Completes financial aid billing and checks for accuracy.
- Coordinates the return of all textbooks in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of college and state of Georgia procurement procedures
- Proficiency in Windows applications (Word, Excel, Access), Internet and Outlook
Driver’s License Requirement: Valid GA Driver License

- This position may perform monetary transactions, such as receiving cash, check, and credit card payments. Position will require a credit check.

Physical Demands:
- The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight.
- Work is typically performed with the employee sitting at a desk in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings.
- The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Full range of hand and finger motion is utilized for data entry purposes.
Travel Requirements: Some travel to peer groups or other training/conferences and other campuses
