DOL Services Specialist (Employment Services Specialist 1)

The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking qualified applicants to be considered for a DOL Services Specialist position in the Brunswick Career Center in Brunswick, GA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • File and processes unemployment insurance claims from the universal queue
  • Provide one on one assistance with claims filing process
  • Conducts ERP Reviews and ID.me assistance, and UI orientations and workshops
  • Answers agency's Dynamic 365 System phone calls, transfer calls, and provide solutions to issues
  • Works the front desk assisting customers with questions/ issues and assist customers in the lobby with computers
  • Provide job search assistance to customers with scheduled Eligibility Reviews
  • Submits all claims related documents to imaging system
  • Advises the claimant of their responsibilities for claiming benefits weekly, submitting work searches, and appeal rights.
  • Accurately answers client questions concerning program eligibility and explains appeals process
  • Evaluates application information and determines initial or ongoing program eligibility.
  • Refers applicants to services such as counseling, literacy or language instruction, transportation assistance, and childcare.
  • Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited 4-year college or university
  • Knowledge of DOL rules/regulations
  • Experience providing reemployment or training services under federally funded programs.
  • Minimum one (1) year customer service experience
