Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a strategic and experienced Executive Director of Human Resources to provide leadership and oversight of all human resources functions in alignment with the college’s strategic goals and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) policies. The Executive Director will lead initiatives in talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, compensation, change management, and organizational development.
This senior-level position serves as the college’s chief HR advisor, a member of the executive leadership team, and the designated Title IX and Grievance Coordinator. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies that attract, develop, and retain a high-performing, diverse workforce to support the college’s mission and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership in the planning and execution of HR initiatives to support Georgia Piedmont Technical College’s institutional priorities.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, including supervision of a team of four professional, paraprofessional, and support staff.
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures aligned with TCSG guidelines and state/federal regulations.
Direct the processing of personnel and payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable rules and documentation standards.
Lead talent acquisition strategies, position management, and recruitment efforts to meet current and future workforce needs.
Design and manage succession planning, leadership development, and employee retention initiatives.
Serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team on workforce planning, organizational change, and employee performance.
Oversee all facets of employee relations, including the performance management system, grievances, investigations, adverse actions, and conflict resolution.
Serve as the College’s Grievance Coordinator and Title IX Coordinator, conducting investigations, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with federal and institutional policies.
Manage HR budgets and resources efficiently to maximize departmental effectiveness.
Ensure compliance and administration of employee benefits programs and other applicable HR functions.
Represent the college on external committees, task forces, and collaborative HR initiatives across the technical college system.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the President.
Preferred Qualifications:
Seven (7) or more years of professional-level HR experience, with a proven track record in designing and executing complex HR programs.
Five (5) years of supervisory or management experience in HR.
Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Experience in higher education or a public sector setting preferred.
