POSITION: COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVING LAB ASSISTANT – Hall Campus
REPORTS TO: Dean of Business, Public Safety and Professional Services
HOURS: Monday - Thursday 3-8 pm
EFFECTIVE: This position is available now
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under instructor supervision, evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; Maintains supplies and equipment; Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area; Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students; Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED AND certificate of completion from a CTD training program. Current Class “A” Commercial Driver’s license; a violation-free MVR driving record over the last three years.
A minimum of one year over-the-road experience and a minimum of three years recent full-time commercial truck driving experience.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to work flexible hours – including day and evening hours;
- Ability to participate in appropriate staff development and campus activities;
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff;
- Skill in the operation of work-related computers;
- Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced level;
- Effective decision making and problem solving skills.
NOTE:
This is a temporary, part-time position that is appointed on a per-academic-term basis. This is an hourly-paid position; up to 29 hours per week while classes are in session.
