POSITION: CUSTODIAN – HALL CAMPUS
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
SALARY RANGE: $31k - $32k, depending on qualifications and experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Skill in understanding and following written and oral instructions;
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a thorough and timely manner;
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment, including vacuum and buffing machine, in a safe and effective manner;
- Ability to perform the physical components of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
COMPETENCIES:
- Ability and skill to operate computer and job-related software programs;
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies)
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals;
- Previous cleaning experience in an industrial/public sector environment;
- Skill in operating specialized cleaning equipment (i.e. carpet shampoo machine, etc.) and various hand tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all aspects of general cleaning and general maintenance for assigned areas on the Hall campus. Workweek schedule is 40 hours: 6am – 2:30pm Monday through Thursday with ½ hour for lunch, and 8am – 12noon on Fridays. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Complete cleaning of assigned areas, to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, etc.; move tables and chairs; and set-up for different campus functions. Perform other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor. Work is performed primarily indoors and exposed to dust, dirt, grease, irritating chemicals, and cleaning machinery. Work requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, lifting light and heavy objects, and using tools and equipment and require dexterity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, climbing, and lifting light and heavy objects. The employee must use tools and equipment that require a high degree of dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily indoors and the employee is exposed to dust, dirt, grease, irritating chemicals, and cleaning machinery.
