- Functions as a supervisory level RN and performs RN duties, assigned to a specific non-patient unit area at a state mental health hospital May provide RN support to Treatment Team, Individual Support Plans, Discharge Planning, etc..
- Completes staffing assignments, i.e. work schedules/assigns training schedules etc. and other administrative tasks for the work area.. Provides recognition and critical performance feedback to staff.
- Completes Annual Performance Evaluations.
- Approves time off requests; completes Kronos timecard reconciliation and sign off.
- Supervise and plan work of assigned staff.. Administer prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts.
- Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and client records.
- Modify client treatment plans as indicated by clients' responses and conditions.. Monitor all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity.
- Observe nurses and visit clients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided.. Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in clients' conditions.
- Prepare clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments.
- Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
