The immediate vacancies are with the following departments:

Salary:
Auditor I: $4,155 per month (SR-16, Step D)

Auditor II: $4,495 per month (SR-18, Step D)

This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill current vacancies, and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.Professional auditing work covered by examining of accounts for the purpose of rendering an opinion regarding the financial position and operations of the governmental agencies, individuals and business entities being examined.

Level I position receives training and assists in a trainee capacity in activities pertaining to professional auditing; and performs other duties as required.

Level II position is an advanced trainee, performs a variety of assignments ranging from the simple to moderately difficult which do not require the services of a fully trained auditor; and performs other duties as required.

Applicants will be placed on the eligible list for ALL levels for which they are qualified.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:


Legal Authorization to Work:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.

Specialized Experience: None for Level I, and for Level II, one (1) year of progressively responsible professional auditing experience requiring the knowledge and application of generally accepted professional accounting and auditing principles, standards, theory and practices for the purpose of analyzing and interpreting accounting books, records, or systems.

Driver's License: Some of the immediate vacancies require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Special Requirement for one of the current vacancies with the Department of Transportation, Airports Division:

Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the SIDA clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant's responsibility.
