Recruitment Number OHHI-25075This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process, fast-tracking qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai’i. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Environmental Health Program Manager is responsible for the administration of a major statewide environmental health program such as vector control, sanitation, food and drug, and noise and radiation. An environmental health program of this type includes responsibility for the development and enforcement of statutes, regulations and standards, the issuance of permits, the inspection of various businesses, products and/or processes, and the provision of technical assistance and community health services related to the designated environmental health program; and performs other related duties as assigned. A position in this class is responsible for the operations of an assigned branch and receives general supervision from the chief of the Environmental Health Service Division. Operations are carried out through supervisors in the various program areas on Oahu and through functional direction of activities on the neighbor islands.
