Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Excess Specialized Experience or any other administrative, professional or analytical work experience which demonstrated the ability to write reports, read and interpret complex written material, gather pertinent data and draw sound conclusions therefrom, and solve problems logically and systematically may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
General Experience: One and one-half (1-1/2) years of professional experience in the following:
Supervisory Aptitude: Applicant must demonstrate possession of supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects; by details to supervisory positions; by completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in assignments; or by favorable appraisals of a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.

- Responsible professional or technical work in an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) System or program which provided a practical knowledge of the operations, activities and linkages of one or more of the components of an EMS System. Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to, work as a pre-hospital emergency medical care technician (e.g., Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Intensive Care Technician, etc.) as a professional nurse in an emergency room or ICU/CCU, or other similar direct service work.;
- Responsible professional work which provided a thorough knowledge of one or more of the functional components of an EMS System. Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to work as a Public Health Educator or Communications Specialist.; and
- Progressively responsible professional analytical work experience in the field of health which demonstrated the ability to conduct studies involving the following steps: identifying information needs, collecting and analyzing data, identifying alternatives and their advantages and disadvantages, and developing logical recommendations for a course of action; the work must also have demonstrated the ability to read and interpret complex material such as State statutes and federal regulations; and draft comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
