This announcement will be used to fill a current opening for a temporaryMaintenance Craftsman Seniorat the Smiley Creek Airport. The successful applicant will maintain the state operated airport during the summer. Smiley Creek airport is a grass landing strip that is a beautiful and popular destination in the Sawtooth Valley, near Stanley. This location doesn’t have lodging, but RV accommodations are available.
The season of employment varies somewhat per airport but typically runs frommid-May to mid-September, not to exceed 5 months. The job is defined as temporary employment and holidays are worked and paid at time and a half. The current pay is $17.00 per hour. The normal work week is Thursday-Monday with Tuesday and Wednesday being the days off.
The job requires a valid driver’s license and driving records are checked as you would be required to operate a state vehicle.

Brief Explanation Of Job Duties
- Serve the public and, at times, accommodate Fly-in groups of up to 200 people;
- Clean restroom, shower facilities and campgrounds daily or more frequently if needed;
- Manage rental of courtesy cars, keep account of monies and do required paperwork;
- Irrigate runway and grounds weekly or more frequently if needed;
- Mow runway and grounds weekly;
- Keep equipment in working order, service/minor repair as needed;
- Keep vehicles clean and in working order, service/ minor repair as needed;
- Perform minor repairs to buildings and related fixtures;
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- Ability to work in remote location in Idaho;
- Work with chemicals and toxic materials.
