Salary : Salary depends on experience (DOE); $150,000 to $175,000.

Location : Boise, Idaho. As Idaho's capital, Boise serves as headquarters for several major national and international corporations. Boise offers a rich variety of both cultural and recreational opportunities. Idaho's world-famous fly-fishing, skiing, kayaking and hiking are all within easy access. Housing costs are moderate.

Primary Duties : The Chief of Special Litigation will work closely with the Attorney General, Chief Deputy, and the Civil Litigation Division to strategize and manage high profile cases defending Idaho's laws and sovereignty. Will lead a team of two to four attorneys pursuing some of the most consequential cases the Office is handling. The candidate and team will be engaged in strategizing, researching, writing, filing suits, taking depositions, arguing in court, trying cases, and carrying out all aspects of litigation in these special cases for the office.

Minimum Qualifications : Strong academic background with significant litigation experience and a passion for the law. Must be a member in good standing of the Idaho State Bar or eligible for admission on reciprocity.

Seeking a dynamic, experienced litigator who exhibits exceptional research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be an aggressive and thoughtful litigator who takes a principled approach to protecting the state of Idaho in the courts.

Strategic vision, political savvy, and compatibility with the Attorney General's legal philosophy and goals are important. This team will file suits that frequently come before the Idaho Supreme Court, federal appellate courts, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
