- Support and develop contracts, amendments, and requests for proposals (RFPs) including identifying goals, timetables, program needs, and funding.
- Ensure grant and contract compliance with standard operating procedures, Idaho Code, Federal Codes, and other requirements.
- Interpret and apply complex contract language, regulations, laws, or policies.
- Perform procurement and contract administration duties as assigned.
- Research grant/contract challenges, strategic needs, and offer solutions.
- Provide contract research, contract language writing, and project management support.
- Identify training needs and provide technical assistance on regulations, rules, and policies.
- Advise on program limitations, requirements, and ensure alignment with contract objectives and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
- Support and develop corrective actions for compliance issues or negative findings, and act as a liaison with federal, state, and other agencies.
- Train in conjunction with the DHW's Contract Unit and the State Division of Purchasing.

- Experiencedeveloping; recommending and evaluating operating procedures and recommending changes.Typically gained by approximately one year of experience where this was a primary responsibility of the job. This experience may include participation in a regional or statewide quality assurance team, business change or project team or a similar assignment.
- Experience developing technical written materials such as policies, technical manuals or rules/regulations.Typically gained byat least one year experience working in a business setting developing training materials, reports, policy and/or procedure manuals, written interpretations of law, rules, or policies, or any related background which would be considered similar.
- Experience providing technical program assistance to staff.Typically gained by at least one year of experience providing technical assistance to staff in a business setting which could include formal and informal assignments to assist, mentor or train new staff.
- Federal or state grant/contract management experience.Typically gained by approximately one year of experience developing grants or contracts including identifying goals and timetables and determining program needs and funding.
- Knowledge of government procurement, including commonly used contracting methods and contract types.Typically gained by approximately one year of experience where this was a primary responsibility of the job.
