Summary :

The Executive Director (ED) of the Idaho Hispanic Commission is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Commission’s operations, strategic direction, and initiatives.

The Executive Director is directly supervised by the Commission Chair for the administration of the Commission office and for proper interpretation and fulfillment of functions, responsibilities, authority and relationships. The Executive Director is evaluated annually by the Governor’s Office.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Ensure that programs align with the Commission’s mission and effectively serve the needs of Idahoans in the Hispanic community.
  • Represent the Commission at community events, public meetings, legislative hearings, national conferences and other relevant forums.
  • Develop and manage the Commission’s budget, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources across programs, staff, and operations.
  • Monitor state and federal legislation, policy changes, and emerging issues that impact Hispanic communities.
  • Provide outreach to communities where the Hispanic population is represented and residing.

Qualifications :

  • 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in public policy, nonprofit management, or community-based organizations.
  • Experience with state and local government relations, including experience working with policymakers, legislators, and governmental agencies.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting, fundraising, and grant writing.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to establish and maintain credibility with the Hispanic community
