Idaho State Police Investigative Assistant – Fusion Center

The Idaho State Police (ISP) coordinates intelligence support through the Idaho Criminal Intelligence Center ([IC]2). [IC]2is seeking to recruit and hire an investigations assistant to support the needs of the Idaho Fusion Center.


EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Perform Intelligence Analyst functions
  • Gather information from various sources including law enforcement databases, open-source intelligence, records, and reports from different agencies, then organize and structure it for analysis
  • Evaluate the credibility and potential impact of collected information to identify emerging threats and assess risk levels
  • Connect seemingly disparate pieces of information to reveal relationships between individuals, organizations, or locations, potentially uncovering criminal networks or coordinated activities
  • Produce detailed reports summarizing analysis findings, including potential threat indicators, actionable intelligence, and recommendations for response strategies
  • Prepare information briefs, periodic written intelligence bulletins and periodic intelligence assessments
  • Conduct intelligence briefings to Idaho Criminal Intelligence Center Chain of Command
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of ongoing events and potential threats by monitoring information feeds and disseminating updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate with local, state, federal, and private sector agencies to share intelligence, identify areas of concern, and collaborate on investigations
  • Stay updated on intelligence methodologies, emerging threats, and relevant laws and policies through ongoing training and professional development
  • Maintain security clearance
  • Maintain access to secure systems and programs
  • Answer phone calls and respond to requests to provide customer service and case support to law enforcement partners
  • May be called to testify in court or administrative hearings
  • Other duties as assigned by [IC]² Director/Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience researching a variety of sources to locate individuals
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies, rules, laws, and regulations and explaining them to others
  • Experience conducting and documenting sensitive fact-finding interviews
  • Experience researching and writing reports
  • Experience entering and retrieving data in a computer records system
  • Valid driver's license
