Position Overview:
This position serves as a lead worker in the organization and classification process in support of departmental operations. This position conducts the final review and ensures position descriptions provide an accurate representation of the organizational structure. This position utilizes technical writing in the development and editing of position descriptions.
Essential Functions
- As a lead worker, oversees, reviews and approves classification transactions in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and completeness in accordance with departmental procedures and maintains historical documentation for classification actions.
- Performs the final review of documents for accuracy, grammar, format, completeness and edits accordingly before approving.
- Reviews organizational changes to ensure an accurate representation of the organizational structure and to ensure proper allocation of positions and presents to executive management.
- Oversees updates of job cards in the Human Capital Management (HCM) system and makes corrections as necessary.
- Maintains accurate departmental classification information in the Human Resource Information (HRI) system and the HCM system and assists in the implementation of HRI automation changes as needed.
- Ensures the electronic site for position descriptions and the physical file record is accurate and complete, and serves as contact for any issues.
- Oversees the development and distribution of departmental organization charts.
- Creates training materials and presents training as directed.
- Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor's degree majoring in human resources management, organizational leadership, business, English, or related degree PLUS two years of experience working in human resources reviewing confidential information, writing technical documentation, editing, or a combination thereof; OR eight years of experience working in human resources reviewing confidential information, writing technical documentation, editing, or a combination thereof.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SharePoint and Visio.
- Working knowledge of organizational concepts.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple functions within given time constraints.
