Position Overview
The Executive II within the Department of Corrections’ Contract Management Unit serves as the technical lead on organizing, planning and obligating a wide variety of programming and contractual agreements. The ideal candidate will help provide professional guidance, administrative oversight, and quality control reviews for staff engaged in the contracting process. The atmosphere is fast paced and evolving with the transformation in criminal justice. Essential Functions
- Organizes, plans, drafts, controls and directs activities of completion of contracts and Contract Obligation Documents (COD).
- Plans, drafts, controls, and directs the bidding and awarding of purchase and service contracts for the Concordia Complex.
- Verifies that contracts, amendments and CODs are processed and filed to ensure statewide compliance with the Illinois Procurement Code, Comptroller statutes, CMS rules and regulations and Shared Services internal directives.
- Serves as a liaison with Office of Comptroller, Central Management Services, Shared Services staff, other state agencies and with the agency field staff on contracting and obligation related issues, including but not limited to, the original drafting and preparation of multi-agency documents to achieve compliance with all Center requirements.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
