Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a detailed oriented person to serve as an Accountant in the Fixed Assets / Property Control Unit. The selected person will perform a variety of professional accounting duties in the maintenance of property control records and financial reporting procedures. This position will also establish and maintain inventory accounts, reconcile reports, and maintain appropriate property control and fixed assets systems. Essential Functions
- Maintains property control forms and records related to financial reporting.
- Reconciles Statewide Accounting System reports on a regular basis.
- Maintains Property Control and Fixed Assets system records utilized by the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC).
- Assists in conducting an annual agency wide physical inventory at the IDOC facilities.
- Responds to audit request inquiries.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of those duties enumerated above.
