Position overview :
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Bureau of Medical Eligibility and Special Programs is seeking to hire an Eligibility System Tester. The candidate will join a talented team of colleagues working to improve the lives of Illinoisans by assuring that HFS programs and systems provide health coverage to eligible Illinoisans consistent with state and federal requirements. As a senior tester the candidate will work collaboratively with individuals across the bureau as well as in other bureaus and other state agencies to design, test, and implement changes to the Integrated Eligibility System which is used by staff statewide to determine and maintain eligibility for public benefits such as the Medicaid program administered by HFS.
The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills that allows them to document findings thoroughly and accurately and to interpret and explain complex materials. The candidate should enjoy problem solving and possess critical thinking skills. They should also thrive in a fast-paced work environment that requires prioritization of multiple ongoing work streams and working collaboratively as a part of a team.
