Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Quality Assurance Manager.  Under administrative direction, this position will direct, develop, control, and manage the operation of the Quality Assurance Program throughout the state, drafting new rules and procedures governing the implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programming. The position will provide oversight of professional staff, manage information, and compose reports assessing Agency performance. This position provides a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in quality assurance management, particularly in a social work arena. Essential Functions

  • Serves as Quality Assurance Manager
  • Serves as full line supervisor
  • Manages information and composes reports assessing Agency performance
  • Serves as liaison to the Governor’s staff and Director’s staff in providing recommendations and / or referrals and facilitating resolution of highly sensitive, complex, confidential Departmental issues brought to the attention of the Governor’s or Director’s Office regarding Quality Assurance issues
  • Provides input into budget preparation, expenditure justification, expenditure monitoring, and areas requiring appropriation / allocation adjustments
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a master’s degree in social work or a related human services field from a recognized college or university.
  • Requires three years of progressively responsible child welfare administrative experience with an MSW OR four years of progressively responsible child welfare administrative experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience performing quality assurance review activities for a public or business organization.
  • 3 years of experience managing staff engaged in quality assurance reviews in a public or business organization.
  • 3 years of experience supervising professional staff in a social work area.
  • 4 years of professional experience working in a social work field related to child welfare or child protection.
  • 4 years of professional experience administering a social work program.
  • 3 years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity in a public or business organization.
  • Conditions of Employment

    2.  Requires ability to travel and possession of a valid driver’s license
