Position Overview
The Division Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Support Service Lead for the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center located in Anna, Illinois to direct dietary staff in daily task including food preparation, portion control, tray service, modified diets, and special events. Performs routine daily duties including closing down of dietary department. Serves as lead worker. Provides on the job training for new Support Service Worker Staff. Serves as back-up in the absence of the Support Service Coordinator.
Essential Functions
- Directs dietary staff in daily tasks including food preparation, portion control, tray service, modified diets and special events-including coffee carts and snack trays for off-site training locations and sack lunches for outings.
- Performs routine daily duties including closing down of dietary department.
- Serves as designated lead worker.
- Researches the availability of new products.
- Provides on the job training for new Support Service Worker staff in areas of operation of food service equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by one year of experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.
Conditions of Employment
- Per P.A. 098-0566 requires the ability to complete a food handling training course within 30 days of employment.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

Work Hours: Wednesday-Sunday 11:00am - 7:00pm, 30 minute unpaid lunch
