Position Overview
The Office of Human Resources is seeking to hire a Public Service Administrator at the Bureau of Staff Development and Training center located in Chicago, Illinois to serve as the Upstate Training Administrator. The incumbent organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the instructional design and updating of all educational products and services offered statewide by the Department of Human Services (DHS), Bureau of Staff Development & Training (BSDT) to all DHS employees, other State of Illinois Agencies, and agency identified non-profit and private organizations. Manages the presentation of agency-wide training modules, curricula, and training programs. Delivers a variety of training to IDHS staff. Receives, evaluates, and responds to requests for educational products and services utilizing instructional design and course development knowledge, skills, and abilities to develop new or updated educational products and services that advance understanding and compliance with IDHS Mission, Vision and Values. Maintains liaison relationships with other divisions, administrators, and interest groups in the formulation of training to promote discussion and dissemination of best practice methods and strategies for delivering training.
Essential Functions
- Serves as Upstate Training Administrator.
- Delivers training to DHS staff focusing on organizational change, human resource planning, management development, team building, leadership skills, cultural diversity, workplace bullying and other soft-skills training.
- Maintains liaison relationships with other divisions, administrators, and interest groups in the formulation of training to promote discussion and dissemination of best practice methods and strategies for delivering training.
- Advises and consults with divisions, managers and staff development specialist regarding training needs and priorities.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required that are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
