The Iowa Board of Regents is seeking a full-time (100%) Administrative Assistant (Professional & Scientific job classification). The position assumes the primary administrative support role for the Board of Regents Office. The role will support daily operations including coordination of specialized events and meetings, processing financial transactions, providing on-boarding to new employees, assisting with data collection, coordinating the logistics for travel, programs, and events, editing reports and correspondence, serving as primary contact for office information, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant staff both internal and external to the universities and BOR, and other duties as assigned.
The position will report directly to the Board’s Executive Director and is located in Urbandale, Iowa.
Appropriate background checks (e.g. criminal background and credential checks) will be conducted.

The Iowa Board of Regents is a group of nine citizens who govern three public educational institutions in the state through policymaking, coordination, and oversight, as provided by law. The institutions include Iowa's three public universities – the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa.
Salary Range
$34,291 to commensurate with experience
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Experience (two to three years) performing administrative support tasks effectively and efficiently in support of individuals, teams, and/or a unit/department.

- Clearly demonstrates an extensive proficiency in carrying out ongoing office administration tasks effectively and efficiently in support of individuals, teams, and/or units.
- Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., word processing, e-mail, presentation software and spreadsheets).
- Communicate with ITS, vendors, and others, as needed.
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Clearly demonstrates a basic understanding of planning and tracking budgets.
- Ability to work independently within established procedures associated with the job function.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills are a must.
