Are you looking for an opportunity this summer where you can help inspect construction projects and review project plans? If so, the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston Resident Construction Engineering Office may have the perfect opportunity for you!
As a student engineer, you will get to performs technical engineering support and construction trades related work. This includes responsibility for inspection of projects consisting of various complexities, ensuring the work is completed according to the contract documents. You will also help to ensure proper certification of materials.
You will help coordinate and reviews activities of inspectors, maintaining records, prepare quantities for vouchers and project progress reports. You’ll thoroughly reviews contract documents and apply information contained to verify conformity of work. Throughout your work, you will stay connected with your supervisor and provide updates on project progress, potential problems or delays and proposed solutions.
Work is done under the direction of Creston RCE Office.
Duration : May-August 2025
40 hours/week ; schedule and overtime may vary
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Eligible majors : engineering
Completion of at least two years in chemical, civil, construction, environmental, materials, mechanics, structural, or transportation engineering, or in an engineering management curriculum at an accredited four-year college or university with eligibility for junior status upon return to school.
