The Iowa Department of Public Defense (DPD) is recruiting to fill a Custodial Assistant position. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Camp Dodge, 7105 NW 70 th Ave, Johnston, IA 50131 – Tuesday through Saturday 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
Flex rotational schedule including weekends.

What You’ll Do
- Assists custodian supervisor by inspecting custodians work, verifying motel style rooms are properly cleaned, recording the results and cleans rooms when necessary.
- Assists custodial supervisor by inspecting and receiving verbal and in writing inventory lists from custodians for motel style rooms.
- Assists custodial supervisor by ordering and distribution of housekeeping supplies,
- materials and equipment.
- Assists supervisor by performing such duties as instructing, training and evaluating employees on lodging custodial duties.
- Assists custodial supervisor in identifying and correcting lodging building maintenance issues.
- Directs and performs linen maintenance services.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
- Graduation from high school or HSED (GED) and one year of full-time work experience in commercial building maintenance.
- A total of one year of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where 30 semester hours of accredited post-high vocational training or course work equals one year of full-time experience
