Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major coursework in the fields of research, planning, economics, finance, public relations, business, journalism, or marketing and five years of full-time work that involved responsibility for interpreting laws, rules, and regulations, and/or securing compliance with them; or compiling and evaluating historical, economic, business, financial programs or program data;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of the required experience for each year (thirty semester or equivalent hours) of the required education.

Key Responsibilities
- Innovation Team Leadership (45%): Lead, mentor, and coach the Innovation Team, overseeing day-to-day activities and ensuring program compliance with state laws and regulations.
- Program Development and Management (20%): Administer key programs such as the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), Innovation Continuum, Manufacturing 4.0, and more. Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements.
- Marketing and Partnership Development (15%): Serve as the key point of contact for innovation and entrepreneurship platforms. Develop partnerships with industry trade associations and local economic development professionals.
- Stakeholder Engagement (15%): Represent IEDA at conferences and meetings, and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including business and community officials, legislative leadership, and industry executives. Provides support for entrepreneurs and small business to promote economic development in Iowa.
