Eighth Judicial District Court Administration (based in Jefferson County, Fairfield, Iowa) has an immediate opening for a Judicial Specialist 2. Travel is required to neighboring counties to assist as needed.
Under direct supervision of court administration, candidates will learn the complexities of our court case processing system using our statewide Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). Responsibilities of this position include providing clerical support for Judges and operating, monitoring and troubleshooting electronic recording equipment in the courtroom during proceedings. This position may occasionally involve travel to other counties in the district.
The starting salary for new State of Iowa Judicial Branch employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The starting pay for this position is $18.59 hourly / $1,487.20 bi-weekly based on an 80-hour pay period. Adjustments may be made if the successful applicant has relevant experience and/or education.
Location: Jefferson County, Fairfield, IA
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00A – 4:30P

Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program.
- Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.
